Tuberculosis (TB)is a serious, curable bacterial infection, primarily attacking the lungs but also other organs, spread through the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or sings.  Symptoms of active TB include a chronic cough (sometimes with blood), chest pain, fever, night sweats, and weight loss, while inactive TB shows no symptoms but can become active if the immune system weakens, common in people with HIV, diabetes, or malnutrition.  Diagnosis involves skin/blood tests, X-rays, and sputum tests, and treatment requires a long course of specific antibiotics, with prompt care preventing severe illness or death.
