Collection: Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that makes mucus and sweat thick and sticky, clogging passageways, primarily in the lungs, pancreas, and intestines, leading to breathing problems, digestive issues, and malnutrition.  It's caused by a mutation in the CTFR gene. While there's no cure, treatments like chest physical therapy, medications (including gene-targeting drugs), nutritional support, and exercise have dramatically improved quality of life and lifespan, with many living into adulthood.
